Introduction to the course:

To provide an understanding of the hydrogen energy systems and how these are different from conventional systems. What are the different ways of producing, storing, transporting, and utilising hydrogen, which sectors it is currently being used and which are the future segments where these technologies will be used. What is the current status of the technologies, future projects, and the growth path.

Broad Objectives:

At the end of this training program, the participants would be able to do the following:

They shall be able to describe:

  1. Basic technology and systems of the hydrogen energy value chain, including production, storage, transport, utilisation, safety, sensing, etc.

  2. Basic safety protocols, standards, and codes in the hydrogen value chain.

  3. Broad issues and concerns of the different aspects of the hydrogen energy value chain.

  4. Hydrogen Mission document of India; Mission documents, strategies, and roadmaps of other countries.

  5. Choice of appropriate technologies for small- and large-scale hydrogen production, storage, and transport.

By the end of this course, participants will be able to do:

  1. Broad system sizing and calculations for a hydrogen storage

  2. Broad System sizing of hydrogen transport

  3. Basic Cost and techno-economic of hydrogen systems
