A brainstorming session on Enhanced Oil Recovery and related research areas was organized in person by CoEOGE on 21st July 2022 with the active participation of both the IIT Bombay faculty members, the member PSUs, and private sector players like M/s. Cairns India Ltd. Sun Petro Ltd, Dow Chemicals Inc, Schlumberger, etc. In addition to the speakers/presenters of this session, 84 personnel from two PSUs (ONGC & Oil), industry consultants, and the IITB fraternity actively participated.
The discussion was held on the topics as listed below:
1. CO2 EOR: CO2 Injection in Carbonate reservoirs.
2. Control of fines migration in low salinity water flooding (LSWF)
3. Identifying stable polymers at higher temperatures & CO2 resistant.
4. Wettability altering surfactant formulation for tight oil wet carbonate reservoirs.
5. Longevity & efficiency of microbes in the area of microbial EOR for Heavy oil.
