The CoE OGE had organized a one day meeting on the theme –“Wealth from Agricultural Residue” on 10th January 2020 at IIT-Bombay. The objective of the meeting was to identify theissues related to utilization of agricultural residue for producing biofuels and thereby reducing the menace of stubble burning. Keeping in view of the Union cabinet’s “National Policy on Biofuels 2018”, the experts from various organizations viz, Mr. Y. B. Ramakrishnan (Member of Working group on Bio-Fuels-MoPNG), experts from IOCL, BPCL, HPCL, Punjab Renewable Energy Systems Pvt. Ltd (PRESPL), ICAR, Bhopal and IIT-Bombay presented their activities on the production of biofuels from agricultural biomass, mainly from paddy straw. After all the presentations, there was a brain-storming session, and the house formulated a set of recommendations and action items. The MoM was sent to all the PSUs and MoPNG
